Course Description:
Social workers and clinicians will learn to implement a treatment model to improve the mental health of their clients and help prevent suicide. Sandison teaches practical methods to empower clients to take an active role in their treatment plan and gain self-efficacy. Implementing the five pillars of mental health will equip clients with skills to manage their anxiety and emotions, and cope with depression. Learn from research how food, sleep, stressors of life, and exercise, impact the mental health of your clients and ways to implement programs to address these needs. The five pillars of mental health will empower clients to understand their mental health issues and take an active approach in their treatment. Sandison shares the insight he gained from working sixteen-years at Havenwyck Hospital and his research in writing his fifth book A Pro-Active Approach to Mental Health.
