Course Description:
This training will focus on the State of Michigan Ryan White Program Service Standards, as well as standards set forth from Health Resources Services Administration. These standards ensure the quality and consistency of delivering HIV services across the State of Michigan. Key topics include reporting requirements, medication adherence/non-adherence, medication readiness, and building the knowledge, skills and motivation/support systems for people living with HIV.
New staff that are hired at agencies need to have a strong understanding of the service standards that are set forth by Health Resources Service Administration as well as our expectations at MDHHS around program implementation. MDHHS has found that new hires need training to ensure consistency across case management services in Michigan.
Health Resources Service Administration's key metrics for Ryan White Programs is medication adherence. Experienced case managers have found that clients require support to improve adherence including, but not limited to, addressing barriers, knowledge, skills and motivation.
