Course Description:
This workshop addresses the use of laws, codes of ethics and ethical decision-making models to address ethical issues, resolve ethical dilemmas and prevent ethical violations. Common ethical issues/dilemmas encountered in practice will be analyzed to gain understanding of alternative ways of responding to them. Participants will apply the code and learn an ethical decision-making model that they will apply to cases regarding such issues as blurred boundaries and dual relationships, confidentially, informed consent and self-determination. Participants will recognize the risks to practice with the use of technology and learn methods to safeguard practice.
