Course Description:

Patients dealing with substance use disorders or other stressors in life need to feel supported. Clinicians must be equipped with skills to motivate our patients to engage in treatment and other lifestyle changes. This presentation will discuss the stages of change and helpful motivational interviewing interventions approach for each of those stages. Additionally, skills to help patients transition to other stages of change will also be discussed.
