Course Description:
Gain insight into the final stage of life, how to prepare for it, how to recognize it, and how to provide support to those experiencing it and their caregivers. Learn how to apply person-centered strategies to minimize distress, maximize well-being, and ensure meaningful communication with the person, family, and care team. Recommendation: take CES 4303 Fundamentals of Dementia Care first. This class is an elective to complete the certificate. This educational activity is provided by Schoolcraft College, an approved continuing education provider under the Michigan Board of Nursing Administrative Rule R338.10602(g) and is approved for 3 continuing education contact hours for nurses.
