Course Description:
Participants will gain understanding that suicide assessment is an ongoing process. Participants will develop an understanding on the difference between screening and comprehensive assessment. Risk factors for suicide are examined as are acute versus chronic risk. Participants learn a process ofor comprehensive suicide assessment and decision making about level of risk and follow-up needs. The significance of empathy is explored and resources are examined. Each participant will receive a suicide prevention clinical toolkit with county specific resources.
