Course Description:

Breathwork is various patterns of breathing exercises designed to improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Through manipulation of the breath, these exercises induce emotional and physical healing as well as insight into the subconscious. This presentation will discuss the sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system’s impact on the breath and utilization of the breath practices to release tension, improve mindfulness, and manage stress. It will explain the utilization of belly breathing to decrease stress and turn on the parasympathetic nervous system and the physical and emotional aspects of the oral belt of tension. Additionally, biodynamic exercises to release perioral and jaw tension and belly breathing to enhance awareness of deep relaxation and stress reduction will be presented.
