Course Description:

Breathwork is various patterns of breathing exercises designed to improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Through manipulation of the breath, these exercises induce emotional and physical healing as well as insight into the subconscious. This presentation will discuss meditative practices for increased physical, mental, and emotional health, three manners of manipulation of breath: depth, duration, and rhythm and typical breathwork session including expectations, resourcing, tetany, and possibility of emotional release. Attendees will be able to describe utilization of breath practices to release tension, improve mindfulness, and manage stress, and the seven belts of tension found in the skull, cervical spine, thoracic spine, diaphragm, abdomen, and pelvis. Additionally, the physical and emotional aspects of the ocular belt of tension and biodynamic exercises to release ocular tension will be discussed.
