Course Description:

Social Workers are key members of interdisciplinary teams that care for individuals with Parkinsons and their families. The goal of this annual conference is to present research that help interdisciplinary care providers to recognize and appreciate the role that their strategies and techniques play in Parkinson’s care as well as how education and modeling is the driving force to make change in current practice. We will explore: (1) the impact support of caregivers wellbeing has on outcomes of Parkinson’s care, (2) current research findings Parkinsons and establishing a person-centered approach, (3) Sleep disturbances with Parkinson’s and best treatment of such, and finally how orthostatic hypotension impacts progression of Parkson’s disease.
