Course Description:
Participants will learn how to adjust assessments of sexual recidivism risk based on the number of years that persons with a sexual offence history have been at-risk in the community without committing a new sexual offence. The initial part of the training provides an overview of the research and theory that justify the time-free adjustments. Participants will then be taught an empirical actuarial approach to making these adjustments using a pre-built EXCEL file. As well, the training will address how these time-free adjustments could be reported in risk assessments.
