Human Trafficking for Child Welfare Professionals

Course Description:

Human trafficking involves exploiting an individual to obtain labor or services, often through the use of force, fraud, or coercion. In this webinar, you will learn precisely what human trafficking is (and what it is not) and how to identify it. In particular, you will learn how human trafficking impacts youth as well as specific considerations when working with minors who have experienced exploitation. The discussion will include how to assess for human trafficking, MDHHS policies and procedures regarding child victims of human trafficking, specific Michigan laws related to trafficking of minors, and important immigration considerations. This webinar will utilize visual displays, incorporate participant feedback, and allow time for questions and answers.
