Clinical Update on Alzheiemr's & Other Dementias

  • Live Webinar United States (map)

Course Description:

Brain functioning and behavior can be disrupted to a point at which an individual is unable to perform normal activities. Cognition can be impaired. Damaging proteins can impair and destroy neurons. The six-hour educational program, "Clinical Update on Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementias," will focus on detection and treatment of cognitive decline. Clinical dementia will be compared with age associated memory impairment. The program will show that many, if not most, people with dementia have more than one disorder causing the condition. The course will provide a detailed discussion of the large number of conditions that can produce dementia but can also be significantly improved or even reversed. Specifically, the course will examine such conditions as traumatic brain injury, stroke, sleep disorders, and metabolic disorders. The course will cover in detail such phenomena as vascular dementia, mad cow" disease, Huntington's disease, and Parkinson’s disease. The course will have a clinical update on the most prevalent of the progressive dementias and of Alzheimer's disease.
