Course Description:
The availability of marijuana is becoming greater. New laws have allowed this increased availability. What are the health consequences of increased marijuana use? The course, "The Danger of Vaping THC" [tetrahydrocannabinol] will examine the effects of vaping marijuana, which is associated with two plant-based substances, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol). The three-hour, scientifically-based course will provide an in depth examination of what can happen to a patient when high-potency THC and CBD are used in conjunction with vaping devices. The course will be presented as a webinar. The course will provide recommendations on what health professionals need to know when treating a patient who has been vaping. The course will review important drug interactions associated with the use of THC and CBD in vaping. The course will provide guidelines for patient education and will review the consequences of improper utilization of marijuana products even if improper utilization is related to medical prescriptions.
