Course Description:
Human trafficking knows no limits and this predatory crime plagues rural, suburban and urban communities in the United States and throughout the world. The inhumane, cruel devastation wrought by traffickers pardons no age, gender, ethnicity, race or socioeconomic status. Traffickers deprive their victims of their identity, self-worth, autonomy, liberty, freedom and justice through force, fear, intimidation and false promites.false promises. This continuing education activity will review the indicators of human trafficking, community stakeholders, and their roles in combating human trafficking will be discussed along with resources to care and support victims of human trafficking. Further, Renee Mallett, healthcare attorney, will discuss the legal implications for both the victim and trafficker and how healthcare professionals may aid in the legal proceedings.
