Course Description:
This training provides Infant Mental Health Home Visiting professionals the opportunity to share and learn about their work through video, group discussion, and clinical observations. Participants will consider new ways of working with infants, toddlers, and families that support parent infant relationships. An overview of Infant Mental Health theory, attachment, strategies, assessment, and interventions will be discussed and practiced.
This training is relevant to social work because it provides infant mental health professionals the opportunity to share observations, discuss practice and consider new ways of working with infants, toddlers, and families. Additionally, this training will help increase the competence of social workers in their provision of relationship-focused play therapy with children and their caregivers, helping to support healthy attachment relationships and children's social-emotional development.
