Course Description:

Today, youth are faced with a variety of challenges ranging from traumatic losses to daily adversities. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from these challenges and adversities. Resilience is a skill that can be acquired and learned over time. This workshop will focus on the impacts of: Peer pressure, substance abuse, suicide, adverse childhood experiences, trauma and abuse and neglect. In particular, this course will focus on seeing challenges as learning opportunities. Upon completion of this course, providers will acquire a better understanding of the importance of building resilience in adolescence and teens and will learn the proper use of therapeutic tools and interventions.
