Course Description:
Becoming a caregiver for a loved one is something that can happen gradually or suddenly. Individuals quickly realize the all-consuming nature of caregiving, yet often overlooked is the well being of the caregiver. The challenges of the caregiving are real and varied; they may manifest as physical exhaustion, mental withdrawal, and emotional fatigue. In this session, we will consider the following: who is supporting the caregiver, what opportunities exist for respite, and how can caregivers infuse self-care into their lives to replenish themselves?
