Course Description:
As people and as practitioners we all face grief and loss with differing levels of support, understanding, and perspective. This interactive workshop will offer participants the opportunity to identify forms of disenfranchised grief and specifically focus on and explore issue of pet related grief and loss.
Increasingly individuals and communities are recognizing the impact of pet loss. As a private practice therapist and community practitioner, I have worked with countless individuals and group struggling to process the loss of pets. This presentation will bring awareness to social work professionals as well as give them tools to assess and support individual grieving this particular disenfranchised loss.
