Course Description:
This presentation will examine childhood experiences traumatic stress as a public health crisis and identify the lasting effects throughout the lifespan. We discuss its relationship with substance use and gain a greater understanding of the impact of trauma on the addiction cycle. Finally, we will identify how to use non-stigmatizing language as we discuss prevention, harm reduction and treatment options.
The presentation will examine the effects of trauma and substance use on clients and other vulnerable populations. We will explore the effects of COVID 19 and discuss collective trauma.
