Course Description:

This course will review the pathophysiology of acute and chronic pain as well as basic pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain management. We will discuss safety measures in pain management and regulations specific to Michigan. Identification of a social worker’s role in pain management will also be included. Case studies will be used to provide practical application of a social worker’s role in pain management.
