Level Up Your Supervision

Course Description:

All social workers go through supervision, minimally during our internships and limited license stages. Most of us provide supervision at some point, maybe to interns and likely other social workers and interdisciplinary staffers. Yet how often are we trained in the skills that are setting up the next rounds of professionals? Do we know how to supervise our staff for benefitting their professional growth and our agencies?

If a significant portion of our careers are spent doing this work, we need to know the impact it is having and how to do it to the best of our ability. In addition to our code of ethics, NASW, CSWE, and ASWB have created additional practical application and standards for supervisors. Not only will we review that, we’ll also spend time discussing the practical best practices for supervision in our field.

Supervision is required in social work and almost all professionals have to provide it at some point. Quality supervision has a significant impact on our profession and on individual professionals.
