Trauma Experiences in Childhood and Treatment Approaches

Course Description:

This workshop will offer a thorough description of trauma from a perspective of diagnostic criteria and symptom description. We will also explore how trauma is experienced in unique ways for children and discuss the variance of symptoms of acute, chronic, complex and collective trauma. Description and discussion of treatment approaches for childhood trauma will conclude the training with application to an early childhood as well as adolescent case. Learners will find this to be extremely informative for recognizing symptoms and leave with new skills to engage with children and families that have/are experiencing trauma.
