Course Description:
Discusses the major characteristics of anger, irritability, hostility, and aggression and the common drugs and medical conditions that can cause irritability and agitation. Describes the key features of aggressive behavior, including overt, covert, physical, verbal, passive, and online aggression and discusses strategies for effectively coping with anger, aggression, and passive aggression in others without becoming aggressive. Explains techniques to help patients/clients learn to control and manage their aggressive impulses and discusses methods to defuse or de-escalate aggressive patients or dangerous situations.
