Knee Osteoarthritis – Risk Factors and Courses of Care+562+

  • The Baronette Renaissance Detroit-Novi Hotel 27790 Novi Road Novi, MI, 48377 United States (map)

Course Description

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most prevalent joint disease and a leading source of chronic pain and disability in the United States. Osteoarthritis of the knee is a chronic condition often associated with increased levels of pain and dysfunction in patients. Left untreated, management of knee OA becomes more costly to the patient and medical providers, leading to a less efficient utilization of healthcare resources. Effective treatment or management of knee OA can lead to reduced comorbidities and mortality in at-risk patients. Early intervention and appropriate dosage of treatment for patients with Knee OA leads to better functional outcomes. Drs Sherrard and Rojas will provide insight into knee osteoarthritis pathology, risk factors, impact to quality of life, and treatment options from conservative methods such as physical therapy or non-invasive procedures to total knee arthroscopy.
