Medical Marijuana: Pain, Dosage & Safety Issues

  • Live Webinar United States (map)

Course Description:

This course evaluates the evolving policy changes that affect all health care professionals as a result of the legalization of Medical Marijuana in 39 states across the country. There are 39 different sets of state laws, rules, and standards for the prescription and use of medical marijuana, based on 39 differing opinions and thoughts on a state-by-state basis. There is no central authority such as the FDA that governs medical marijuana dosing parameters. There are also no standard "package inserts" on the endless number of medical marijuana potions, tinctures, strains, and/or edibles (cookies, muffins, etc.) that are available to patients and sold in medical marijuana dispensaries.

This course will suggest operational and clinical recommendations in concordance with a critical examination of the effects of different doses of THC and medical marijuana when used to treat symptomology as diverse as pain, MS, anorexia, insomnia, and PTSD. This information presents a focus on treatment decision making and adverse drug interaction algorithms concerning both THC and CBD.
