Course Description:

Many of us feel like we are just surviving the day, week and month. For too many families, this is a way of life. The conventional and traditional approach to working with families relies on a deficit approach with a concentration on risk factors. Attendees will learn how a strength-based approach to working with families differs from the conventional and traditional approach and how a strength-based approach can move families from a state of surviving to thriving. Attendees will also learn how this strength-based approach relates to the Protective Factors Framework.
