Course Description:
This webinar intended for a diverse and inclusive audience who provide or work on behalf of babies, young children, and their families. We invite participants to explore core principles of reflective supervision through an historical perspective, framed infant and early childhood mental health, that leads to greater understanding of the process and a deeper awareness of who we each are in relationship to one another. The training offers a brief grounding in infant mental health, followed by an invitation to consider what reflective supervision is as she draws on past and present definitions that shape practice, making room for new possibilities and voices to emerge. This training offers two real time reflective experiences, followed by shared observations and responses to the reflective process. Live reflective supervision session will engage with a focus on work with a supervisor of very young children with special needs, reflections following. The audience is invited to follow along, to consider questions as they observe and listen closely, e.g. What thoughts or feelings resonated in you? Did anything surprise you about the conversation? What are you curious about? How might issues of race, ethnicity, culture impact the conversation in this RS space?
