Course Description:
This presentation addresses the effect the aging phenomenon is having on our society, business and industry and people who deal with the care of an aging loved one. Being an adult caregiver is one of the most challenging jobs in the world. The impact can not only be horrific for the caregiver but also for employers. Adult caregivers miss work as they need to provide care, have periods of stress and hopelessness, all impacting organizations.
Using the lessons, I learned as an adult caregiver motivated me to write and publish a book titled, “A Son’s Journey: Taking Care of Mom and Dad.” I use the book as a platform for a heart-felt and informative presentation.
Understanding the challenges and solutions in dealing with the tsunami of age will assist Health Care Professionals and others thrive while better caring for a vulnerable population who are aging and in need of support.
