Course Description:

 Presentation will focus on the causes underlying the current dramatic increase in need for crisis mental health care and the community, social and public policy strategies best suited to meeting that need. Mr. Watkins will address the important roles social workers can and must play in assuring crisis mental health services are accessible. Presentation will focus on the medical, clinical and operational factors that assure crisis interventions are delivered with highest quality and optimal outcomes. Dr. Lagrou will focus on the importance of the continuum of care during and after a crisis and strong collaboration between medical and clinical professionals in crisis intervention.
