Learning Objectives:

  • School and clinical social workers will learn a “going for a walk” analogy to use with individuals as well as entire classes of students to help them understand the emotional impact of traumatic events and how the recovery process unfolds.

  • School and clinical social workers will learn a stained-glass window analogy to use with individuals as well as entire classes of students to help them manage the grief and loss process following traumatic events.

  • School social workers will learn how to implement a classroom or school-wide program (Growing Together), which promotes awareness of student growth and provides mutual support throughout the pandemic.
