Course Description:
The presence of contraversive pushing can significantly affect recovery of balance and function during acute rehabilitation, yet there is no consensus as to the most effective treatment strategies. Individuals with contraversive pushing can achieve similar rehabilitation outcomes to those without this perceptual deficit, however at a slower rate of recovery. Remediation of contraversive pushing in individuals with TBI is uniquely challenging due to the complex cognitive impairments that adversely affect motor learning and recovery.
