Course Description:
The INR course, “The Psychology of Aging,” will enable social workers to help their clients deal with important issues, such as how and where to get the care they need and whether to seek assisted living, therapy, etc. Because many clients will be elderly individuals who have suffered age-related illnesses and injury, it is especially important for social workers to understand the psychological aspects of normal aging, and to distinguish them from the effects of injury, disease, or chemical imbalances. This course will help social workers to make this distinction in light of the most current research.
