Course Description:
This pediatric traumatic brain injury training is split into four modules: module one presents an overview of pediatric traumatic brain injury, addresses the incidence and prevalence of pediatric TBI, the nature of injury and some key predictors of outcome; module two discusses specific cognitive effects of pediatric traumatic brain injury, some of the effects on academic skills, school progress, and children's needs; Module three covers the psychological and psychiatric consequences and needs and module four focuses on how a brain injury can affect other family member and discusses social consequences, and peer relations of the brain injured person.
