Course Description:

Establishing a professional identity requires that case managers use some intangible attributes of personality—and even if those attributes are not innate, they can be developed and honed. This course offers evidence-based grounding skills to bridge the gaps in a case manager’s knowledge, skills and practice regarding such skills as critical thinking and emotional intelligence as well as the practice of conflict resolution through negotiation, leadership through collaboration, and the delicate dance of dealing with difficult individuals. By developing these skills, case managers can establish a strong professional presence that will enable them to intervene and support the efforts of their patients and transdisciplinary team members. Each of these topics is covered sequentially in Modules A through F.
