Mindfulness for Anxiety and Depression

  • Live Webinar United States (map)

Course Description:

Anxiety and depression are the most commonly diagnosed mental disorders in the U.S. Chronic stressors, if unchecked, may produce anxiety and a downward trajectory to depression. This program investigates methods of breaking that chain of progression through the science of mindfulness. This course examines mindfulness and mindful meditation and how the mental states of sustained attention and conscious awareness may translate into clinical therapies for reducing the stress response. Participants will be introduced to several therapeutic regimens that incorporate mindfulness-based interventions, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. This course presents training in mindfulness-based techniques for controlling stress-induced anxiety and depressive thought patterns. Skills include: breathing and relaxation exercises; brief daily mindful practices; meditative movement drills; and mindful meditations to train present-moment awareness and attentional focus.
