Course Description:
National Institutes of Health reports that one in four thirteen-eighteen year old has had an anxiety disorder in their lifetime. Heroic teachers are facing this challenge with little to no training in mental health and behavioral principles. This leaves teachers to learn on the job and rely on their instincts, and leaves students with anxiety at risk for poor performance, diminished learning and social behavioral problems in school. This workshop will take a common classroom practice and shift them slightly into clinically informed, researched based and easy to implement strategies and interventions that can be implemented effectively by any teacher.
