Course Description:
It is important for health care providers to understand how to best prepare youth with a history of TBI for transition to adult health care. Clinicians need to have the tools and knowledge to evaluate mental capacity in a way that respects individual rights and meets the requirements of the probate court system. This presentation will describe various types of mental capacity, adult health care issues and the guardianship process for these youth as they approach the age of majority.
