Course Description:
This is a 4 part series on motivational interviewing. Attendees can select from 4 one hour series which sessions best meet thier ongoing sklill development needs. The series will cover: 1. Application of the SPIRIT of Motivational Interviewing for the population diagnosed with any of the following conditions; depression, anxiety, substance use disorder. 2. Application of the skills of Motivational Interviewing: Open-ended questions, Affirmations, Reflective Listening and Summarization. 3. Use of MI to effectively Screen - Provide Brief Intervention - Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) when screened positively for SUD risk. 4. Putting it all together: using a patient-centered evidence-based approach to coach and mentor patient population with dual diagnosis of Depression/Anxiety and SUD.
