Course Description:

The Traumatic Brain Injury and Public Services in Michigan online course is a free training intended for service providers in Michigan´s public service agencies. The objectives of the course are to ensure service providers understand the range of outcomes of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and the implications for assessment and care-planning, and to improve the ability of service providers to identify and deliver appropriate services for persons with TBI - including coordination across service agencies when appropriate. This course can be found online at http://www.mitbitraining.org, and is presented in four modules including: Module 1) Significance of TBI and introductory information on how the brain works; Module 2) Common physical, behavioral, and cognitive impairments and interaction strategies; Module 3) Screening for a history of TBI; and Module 4) Public services available for eligible persons with TBI.
