The Continuing Education Collaborative was created to ensure the quality of all continuing education programs sponsored for Michigan's social workers and to conduct activities that will help them meet their defined education needs. The Collaborative model serves the social work profession by:
1. Providing a way for course sponsors to implement the requirements for continuing education.
2. Contributing to the unity of the profession by bringing together major stakeholders in the state.
3. Allow for discussion between Associations and Universities to assure provision of cutting edge training within the State of Michigan.
The Collaborative serves as the collective body that evaluates applications for provider status. The Collaborative is comprised of members representing academic institutions and social work professional associations.
